About Eazy
Who I Am I am a banker turned transaction advisor with twenty years of experience building and financing businesses across East Africa. I have spent my career on the boundary between conventional banking and the deals conventional banking finds difficult – agribusiness cooperatives, cross-border infrastructure, and, more recently, natural climate solutions and carbon offset structures. My work sits at the intersection of credit discipline, deal origination, and stakeholder diplomacy: understanding what a business or a community actually needs, and building a financing structure that gets them there. My Background I spent seventeen years inside the banking system, rising from SME relationship management to Head of Commercial Banking at Stanbic Bank Kenya, where I managed a corporate portfolio with requirements of up to $80M, grew the balance sheet to KES 41B in deposits and KES 32B in loans, and lifted Return on Equity from 11% to 16%. I led agribusiness strategy across tea, horticulture, dairy, and grains, piloted the OneFarm value chain solution with Meru Central Dairy Cooperative, and built the Africa-China Trade Solutions partnership with ICBC. Since 2022, as Managing Partner of Y-Capital Advisory Ltd, I have moved to the advisory side – structuring project finance, PPPs, and EPC+F transactions across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi, and South Sudan. My deal book spans a $38M steel plant financing, a $3.8bn EPC+F fundraising mandate in South Sudan, hydropower project finance in Burundi and Tanzania, and – most recently – carbon offset and natural climate solutions design, including a blue-carbon mangrove and seaweed restoration structure and solar-transition financing for the floriculture sector. I hold a PGDip in Management Practice from Henley Business School, a BA in Economics from the University of Nairobi, and a Sustainable Finance Initiative certification from the Kenya Bankers Association. What You Would Gain From My Advice • Credit-grade rigour applied to unconventional deals – whether a structure will survive a credit committee, not just whether it sounds good on paper. • Direct experience financing agribusiness value chains – tea, dairy, horticulture, grains – including blended facilities for cooperatives that conventional banks turn away. • Cross-border project finance judgment from genuinely difficult markets (South Sudan, Burundi, Uganda), where regulatory, security, and infrastructure constraints get priced into the deal. • Hands-on fluency in carbon finance and natural climate solutions – from blue-carbon restoration economics to offset financing tied to real market pressures like export-market carbon taxes. • A working network across Tier 1 Kenyan banks, DFIs, and family offices, built over two decades of C-suite relationship management. • An entrepreneur's perspective as well as a banker's – having co-founded a startup myself, I understand the founder's side of the table too. In short: if you need someone to structure a deal that doesn't fit the standard template, and to tell you honestly whether it will hold up, that is the advice I bring.
"Incredibly insightful. I came with a specific problem and left with a full plan. Worth every shilling."
"Booked 15 minutes just to ask one question. Got a full framework I still use today. Fast, clear, no fluff."
"The feedback was honest and direct. Some things I didn't want to hear, but all correct."
